How Mac Declos gathered his super fans for a listening party of his new album

Mac Declos is a French DJ and producer, signed to the Mama Told Ya label. For the release of Nothing Stands Still, he wanted to create an intimate moment, in keeping with the spirit of the album.
With Shotgun Artists, his team was able to precisely identify his most loyal fans and contact them directly. The objective: invite them to a private listening of his album in Paris, alongside the artist's close friends.
"The listening party was exactly as I imagined it: the best way to bring this project to life" Mac Declos, on Instagram
A project between groove and intimacy
To accompany the release of his second album Nothing Stands Still, Mac Declos' team imagined a listening party at the Chapelle XVI gallery, adjacent to Yoyaku, one of the leading electronic music record shops in Paris.
The album was played on a high-end sound system, punctuated by speeches where the artist discussed the genesis of the tracks and the context of their creation.
A highlight of the evening, his mother joined him on stage to perform one of the tracks live. A touching scene, in direct resonance with the project's identity and its intimate dimension.
The challenge: gathering the right people
The challenge for Mac Declos' team was to bring the album to life through a unique format. Two objectives emerged:
- Identify the most engaged fans, present at several of the artist's dates
- Bring together fans, close friends and project partners in the same space
Nothing Stands Still x Shotgun
The organisation of the listening party was made possible thanks to access to data from fans who had attended Mac Declos' previous dates via Shotgun Artists, including email addresses, which enabled them to be contacted directly. Mac Declos' team was thus able to:
- Identify fans who had attended at least three previous dates and retrieve their email addresses.
- Select a restricted group and invite them personally, via an invitation sent by email.
- Welcome them to the Chapelle XVI gallery for a private listening, alongside the artist
What it changed
The fans didn't just listen to the album. They shared a moment with the artist, a form of recognition addressed to those who have followed and supported the project for a long time.
The format also became a source of inspiration for future releases by other artists on the Mama Told Ya label, showing how live data can be used to imagine powerful moments around an album release.
Key results
A first meeting between Mac Declos and his most loyal fans
A notable organic reach within the electronic music ecosystem
A format to replicate for future releases by other label artists
